How do you think you compare to some of our Australian Olympians in some of the key areas of mental strength?
In 2020/21 we worked with 16 athletes from 6 mens and womens sports who are all part of the Australian team in Tokyo. They all completed the XVenture EARL measure: Rugby 7s; Cycling; Canoeing; Hockey; Soccer and Water Polo.
This 36- question survey has been used by almost 1500 people across sport, business and education. It’s also been used in two tv series and in the work undertaken at Sydney FC and with the Socceroos. It considers some of the main elements of emotional intelligence, resilience, leadership and intrinsic motivation. All important factors for high performance. Scientific evidence suggests that people with higher levels of emotional intelligence are able to overcome obstacles more effectively. Those with higher levels of resilience can overcome disappointments and mistakes quickly. Leadership qualities are particularly important in the team sports of athletes who participated. However, they can also be important in ensuring an athlete can influence those people around them who they need for support.
Do you want to find out your personal score? Then do the survey. Get your personal score straight away together with some tips and hints on how you can improve.
